Selling our Home

We have been planning for almost 2 years to sell our home, buy a 5th wheel and travel the US for adventure and in hopes of finding that perfect spot to build our forever home.

Well, that day has arrived!

As of yesterday, we accepted an offer on our home. It has been a crazy whirl wind over here. We finally finished the renovations in our home- full kitchen remodel, full gut jobs of both bathrooms, ripped out blue carpet and refinished the original hardwood floors, painted wood paneling, added molding, trim work, etc… all to sell it in less than a week. We had plans to be here a little while longer but God must have had different plans for us. The first week of the year, my husband got news that his entire company was dissolving due to negotiating problems and that he had about 2-3 weeks left.  That news lit a fire under us to finish all the finally details in our home. We met with our realtor and 10 days later we had an open house and over 35 groups of people went through our home that weekend. Multiple offers came in, we countered and picked the best one. Just like that, we were in escrow. I am still in awe that the day has finally come. We have been viewing multiple 5th wheels trying to decide which one is the perfect one. We had originally picked one about a month ago, did more research and changed our minds again. Since this is going to be our full time home, I have to be much pickier about what features are very important and what can be negotiable. Needless to say, it has been harder and more stressful to make this decision than I thought it would be.

Tomorrow we are driving back out to the beach to check out another model of a 5th wheel because I can’t make up my dang mind! I will take photos and blog about that experience tomorrow! In the meantime, here are some photos of our home from the listing. We put a lot of time and money into this home to make it unique yet neutral.

This is our 1954 Ranch Home.

We added a 200 sq ft addition, shutters, landscaping and new exterior paint.

This was our major kitchen remodel. We removed cabinetry, moved cabinets, added a backsplash that goes all the way to the ceiling, open shelving, new recessed lighting, added a garbage disposal and dishwasher, fresh paint, added trim to the cabinet doors, new flooring and diy concrete counter tops.

Another huge remodel. We completely gutted this bathroom shower down to the studs and started from scratch. New vanity, medicine cabinet, sink, tile floors, blinds and paint.

This is our 2nd bathroom. All new tile work in here, new flooring, lighting, vanity, medicine cabinet, blinds and paint.

Here is our living room. This room, the hallway and bedrooms all had this hideous blue carpeting that we immediately removed and refinished the original hardwood floors that were underneath. New light fixture and we painted over the wood paneling on the fireplace wall. We also added board and batton trim work to this entire space and the hallway.

That’s all for now. The journey continues tomorrow with more 5th wheels to inspect and hopefully choose the perfect one!
